Do you cover your mouth when you laugh? Perhaps you unconsciously use your top lip to cover your teeth when you smile. Don’t worry, you are not alone. Having crooked teeth is more common than you might think and we can sometimes feel a little self conscious if we have anything less than that perfect Hollywood smile.
What if we told you that the answer is a lot easier and quicker than you might realise and doesn’t involve metal train tracks or sharp braces? The answer is Invisalign, the breakthrough treatment that is helping people all over the world getting the smile that they deserve.
What is Invisalign?
Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign Glasgow uses clear plastic aligners, which cover your teeth and gently push them into their desired position over a short period of time. They can achieve the same results as metal braces but in as little as 6 to 16 weeks! No wonder it has proven so popular.
Invisalign Glasgow are extremely popular around the world as they are almost invisible (hence the name), are extremely comfortable to wear and are also conveniently removable.
How does it work?
When you come in for your first appointment, we will take a 3D scan of your teeth. From here we can quickly show you a digital reconstruction of how your teeth will look at the end of the treatment. This data is then sent off to make your series of custom aligners. You will receive a pack of aligners that are slightly different and numbered in order of your teeth’s journey. Each aligner will shift your teeth slightly, moving them up, down, sideways or rotating them into their desired position. As the aligners are moulded to your teeth you will effortlessly be able to slip them over your teeth from the comfort of your own home.
Apart from gradually turning your crooked teeth into a perfect smile, Invisalign has some other highly desirable benefits. As we have mentioned, the clear plastic makes them nearly invisible to the untrained eye. They are also completely removable, which means you are able to take them out whenever you are enjoying a meal or to brush your teeth twice a day as normal. You can also whip them out if there is an important photograph you want to be in. Most importantly though, they are extremely comfortable to wear. Whereas traditional braces involved regular trips to the dentist to ‘tighten’ the brace, which can be very painful, Invisalign Glasgow moves your teeth so imperceptibly that you and your teeth will barely feel anything.
