Invisalign Glasgow,
Invisalign in Glasgow at our practice

Discreet teeth-straightening devices have become practical and useful orthodontic tools. At Buttercup 7 Day Dental, Invisalign Glasgow is one of the best ways to get your orthodontic treatment locally any day of the week!
Cosmetic braces may have started off as a fad, but within the field of orthodontics, there have been driving forces behind trying to develop a lower impact aligning device for a long time. Something that people could wear every day without interrupting their interactions and removing the need to worry about what others may think of them and preferably for it to go completely unperceived.
Early attempts of this were to try to fabricate glass versions of the standard metal brace and although these on paper worked, you ended up with fragile constructs of glass under tension; when they did crack and shatter they did so spectacularly and hazardously.
Ceramic glass braces are available today, but they are nothing like these earlier versions; modern versions are a composite material involving polymers and glass making them far tougher and less likely to fracture.
The discreet Invisalign option
Technically Invisalign don’t provide braces, they provide clear aligners, but people have got into the habit of referring to them as clear braces or invisible braces because of the effective way that they rearrange teeth. They are more closely related to dental splints that were developed in the 1970s. These were shown to be effective at altering tooth position, but were far too challenging to mass produce; it was only when progress was made on computer aided design and 3D printing that aligners became viable.
We are proud to be able to bring Invisalign Glasgow to as many people as possible, which is what we hope to do, with Buttercup 7 Day Dental continuing to break down the traditional barriers which have held back dentistry in our community.
And we think these invisible aligners really have a place in helping us do that, by being far more comfortable and less disruptive than traditional braces, and by reducing any social stigma and being significantly more cost effective than long treatment in standard braces.
Invisalign Glasgow really turns the entire treatment schedule on its head; unlike the use of a standard brace which is applied to the patient’s teeth and then adjusted every four weeks, these aligners are fitted at the beginning to the patient’s teeth and then, using thin, tough plastics and 2-weekly changes, gently nudge the teeth into their desired positions.
We do this by taking a 3D scan of the patient’s mouth and using it to build the treatment schedule digitally. From that digital treatment schedule, the set of aligners is designed that will make the same adjustments to the patient’s real teeth, this allows the patient to go through a much longer period before having to attend our clinic.
If you’re an orthodontic patient or are simply curious about how invisible aligners could help you correct a misalignment, feel free to get in contact with the clinic. If you are currently wearing braces and would like to switch to Invisalign, please mention this and we can book you in for an assessment.
